Legal Maxims Part 3

  • Res Ipsa loquitur” – It means”the thing speaks for itself.”
  • Actio personalis moritur cum persona–  it means “a personal action dies with the person.”
  • Damnum sine injuria –It means Damage without injury so a person is not entitled to bring legal action because he did not suffer injury that is violation of legal right.
  • De Minimis Non Curat Lex-  it means”the law does not concern itself with trifles” or “the law does not care about minor matters.”
  • Donatio mortis causa- it means refers to a gift made by someone in contemplation of their impending death.
