Eaglenest Wildlife Sanctuary

  • According to the researchers at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc.) in Bengaluru the bird species have started shifting to higher elevations due to rising temperatures in Eaglenest Wildlife Sanctuary.
  • Eaglenest Wildlife Sanctuary is a protected area of India in the Himalayan foothills of West Kameng District, Arunachal Pradesh.
  • It is situated in the biodiversity hotspot of Eastern Himalayas.

Project Veer Gatha

  • It is a joint initiative of the Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Education.
  • It was instituted under Gallantry Awards Portal (GAP) in 2021.
  • Aim: With the aim to disseminate the details of acts of bravery of the Gallantry Awardees and the life stories of these brave hearts among the students so as to raise the spirit of patriotism.

30 Doradus B

Nasa’s Chandra X-ray Observatory recently captured a stunning image of 30 Doradus B, a supernova remnant that is part of a vibrant region of space where stars have been forming for millions of years

  • “30 Doradus B”, is a supernova remnant found in the Large Magellanic Cloud, a small satellite galaxy of the Milky Way.
  • It is part of a large star-forming region where stars have been continuously forming for the past 8 to 10 million years.

SOMNATH TEMPLE

  • Somnath Trust is hosting a live Lord Shiva darshan at the Rann Utsav in Kutch.
  • Somnath temple, located on the Gujarat coast along the Arabian Sea, is believed to be the first jyotirlinga (devotional shrine of Lord Shiva).
  • Somanth is mentioned in Rigveda and has been rebuilt seven times.
  • It was raided by Mahmud Ghazni (1024), attacked by Delhi Sultant (1297 and 1394) and Aurangzeb (in 1706).

Sohrai painting

  • Sohrai painting is a tribal mural art with GI tag
  • It is practiced in Hazaribagh (Jharkhand).
  • Its origin is rooted in the cave painting tradition during a transitional period between the Mesolithic and Chalcolithic eras.
  • It is mainly practiced during the local harvest and wedding seasons.
  • Local and naturally available soils of different colors are used.
  • It is based on nature themes such as forests, people animals etc.
  • The pattern has an abundance of lines, dots, etc.
