National Creators Award

Context: To honour and celebrate the remarkable contributions of modern-day influencers and creators, underscoring the burgeoning digital creator economy in the country. The Indian government has introduced the prestigious ‘National Creators Award’.

• It is the first-of-its-kind awards will be targeted at “Gen Z”.
• Here “Gen Z”, means the young generation associated with the internet and social media.
• To bring the community of creators, leaders & government on one platform to promote a social revolution, a national movement during ‘Amrit Kaal’
• Empower the Next Wave for using creativity to drive positive change.

Eligibilities

• Participants must be 18 years of age or above at the time of nomination.
• 19 categories are open exclusively to individuals of Indian nationality.
• One category is dedicated to international digital creators.
• Content must be published on one or more of the following digital platforms:
  • Instagram,
  • YouTube,
  • Twitter,
  • LinkedIn,
  • Facebook.
• Content can be in English or any other Indian language.
• Nomination Limits: Creators can self-nominate in a maximum of three categories.

Sangeet Natak Akademi

Context: Recently, Shree M Venkaiah Naidu inaugurated ‘Dakshin Bharat Sanskritik Kendra’ in Hyderabad it will be a centre of the Sangeet Natak Akademi.

  • P.V. Rajamannar was its first Chairman.
• It is for the preservation and promotion of Indian culture in the forms of music, dance and drama.
• The Chairman of the Akademi is appointed by the President of India for five years.
• It is fully funded by the Government.
• The Sangeet Natak Akademi Awards are the highest national recognition conferred on practising artists.
• The Akademi also confers Fellowships on eminent artists and scholars of music, dance and drama.
• It has instituted the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar  in 2006 annual awards to young artists.
